Walter Rasmussen, 85, Willard, Clark County, died Friday, Dec. 16, 1994, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1994, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood. Rev. Harold Schlobohm officiated. Burial was in the West Side Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Shane Rasmussen, Mark Denk, Tim Denk, John Denk, Jamie Denk and Mike Kitzhaber.
Walter Rasmussen was born on Aug. 16, 1909, in Houghton, Mich., to Adolph and Ethel (nee Iverson) Rasmussen. He received his education in Greenwood and at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where he received his cheesemaker's license.
In 1928, he owned and operated Elmdale Cheese Factory, until retiring in 1977. He married Julia Krze on Oct. 5, 1935, in Waukegan, Ill. She survives. He entered the Marshfield Nursing Rehabilitation Center in April 1992, and later moved to the Clark County Health Care Center in Sept. 1992. He resided there until his death. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ and enjoyed gardening and hunting.
Survivors include his wife two sons, Roy (Mary) Rasmussen, Greenwood and Gary (Tina) Rasmussen, Eau Claire three daughters, Shirley (John) Denk, Waukesha Ethel Solmonson, Apple Valley, Minn. and Patricia (Myron) Netterlund, Brooklyn Park, Minn. 17 grandchildren nine great-grandchildren and one brother, Raymond Rasmussen, Marshfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rinka Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

A pretty wedding occurred at Greenwood, Clark County, Wis., on June 22nd, 1921, at 12:30, when Miss Nina Vine and Edward Noah were united in marriage, Rev. Bickell performing the ceremony. The ceremony took place at the home of the bride, about 100 guests being in attendance.
The bride wore a blue crepe de chine dress and carried roses. She was attended by Miss Lena Noah and Miss Esther Vine as bridesmaids, who both wore white.
The groom was attended by Emil Noah and Benjamin Vine as groomsmen. The groom is the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Noah of this place, and is an industrious young man. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Vine of Greenwood. Both young people are well known in this vicinity and have the best wishes of a large number of friends for a long and happy life.
Mr. and Mrs. Noah will live in Greenwood.
