Robert Horn was born at Sheboygan, Wis., Oct. 13, 1861. He came to Greenwood, Clark County, Wis., in 1879, where he died Aug. 5, 1916. He was united in marriage to Miss Christina Braun in Feb. 1886, to which union 13 children were born, three having died in infancy.
Deceased leaves to mourn his loss his wife, ten children, two sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, one grandchild, four brothers, four sisters and a large circle of other relatives and a host of friends.
Mr. Horn came to Clark County when it was mostly wilderness and out of a tract of land, consisting most of huge trees and stumps, made one of the finest farms in this section of the state. He was a man of genial impulses and never forgot the hospitable ways of a pioneer. To his wife he was a good husband, to his children a kind and loving father, and to his friends he was a man among men, loved by old and young alike.
The funeral was held last Wednesday afternoon and was one of the largest ever seen, which showed how ell he was respected in this community.
His brothers and sisters were all present for the funeral, they being, Mr. Gus Horn of Rhinelander, Wis., Mrs. M. C. Hammer of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. J. B. Johnson of Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Zimmerman and daughter of Wrightstown, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Horn of Olivein, Iowa and Mr. August Horn of St. Paul, Minn. Mrs. Theo. Knifke and sons of Chicago also were present at the funeral.

Mrs. Christina Horn, daughter of William and Anna Braun, was born in Germany on Nov. 30, 1864. At the age of nine years she came to the United States with her parents. They made their home in Sheboygan Co., Wis., until they moved to Clark County.
In Feb. 1886 she was united in marriage with Robert Horn and they settled on the present Otto Horn farm in the town of Longwood, Clark County. To this union 13 children were born. She was preceded in death by three children and her husband, who passed away 27 years ago.
Mrs. Horn was well known throughout this community and had many friends and acquaintances.
She was ailing for years, but was confined to her bed for only a short time with heart trouble. Her death came Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 31, 1943, having reached the age of 78 years, 9 months and 1 day.
She leaves to mourn her death 7 sons and 3 daughters: Henry, Oscar Hubert and Otto of the town of Longwood, Gus of the town of Warner, Ervin, Owen, Arthur and Mrs. Dora Schuman, Onaka, S.D., Mrs. Laura Beecroft, Salem, Oregon and Mrs. Tillie Poppe, town of Longwood, 25 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She also leaves her brother, William Braun, town of Longwood and her sister, Mrs. Louisa Horn, Greenwood.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, Sept 3 from the Otto Horn home at 1:30 and from the Braun Settlement Church at 2:00, with Rev. P. H. Franzmeier officiating. She was laid to rest in the Braun Settlement Cemetery.
Pallbearers were six sons: Gust, Arthur, Henry, Hubert, Ervin, Otto, Oscar, the eldest son being honorary pallbearer.
Flower girls were Violet and Laverne Horn, Mrs. Art Hendrickson and Mrs. A. E. Stanke.
Out of town relatives and friends who attended the rites were: Rev. C. Matthews, Owen; Mrs. M. F. Schuman and Arthur Horn, Onaka, S. D.; Mrs. A. E. Stanke, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Baehr and Nels Myriu, Mrs. Dan Poppe, Withee; Mrs. Bertha Karson, Abbotsford; Mrs. Franklin Kraut and daughter, Curtiss.

Norman Henry Horn, 75, Greenwood, died Wednesday, May 7, 1997, at Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville. Private funeral services were held on Friday, May 9, 1997, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood. Rev. Michael Kennedy officiated. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Clark County. Nephews served as pallbearers.
Norman Henry Horn was born on Dec. 23, 1921 in Greenwood, to Gustave and Anna (nee Woepse) Horn. He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1941. He drove truck for Plautz Bros. And worked at Western Condensery in Owen. He served in the U.S. Army overseas in Japan during World War II. Upon returning, he continued working for Plautz Bros. until his marriage. He married Betty Richmond on Sept. 3, 1949, at Immanuel United Church of Christ. She survives. They moved to Wausau and worked for American Can/James River Corp., until retiring in 1983. They then moved back to Greenwood and resdied there until his death. He enjoyed helping on his brother and nephew s farm and also enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was a member of Immnuel United Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife one brother, Herbert (Lila) Horn, Greenwood one sister, Almira (Edgar) Stanke, Rice Lake nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rinka Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Greenwood - Services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Immanuel United Church of Christ here for Gustave Theodore Horn, who died Friday. The Rev. Orval Egbert officated and burial was made in the Forest Hill Cemetery in the Braun Settlement. Pallbearers were Gerald Horn, Darrel Horn, Lloyd Horn, Donald Horn, Kenneth Horn and Jerrold Kuester. Obituary of Gustave Horn, 76
Gustave Theodore Horn, 76, a lifelong resident of the Greenwood area, died suddenly of a heart attack Friday, December 25, at his home in the town of Warner. He had been in failing health for the last seven years.
The Rev. Orval Egbert officiated at the funeral services at 2 p.m Tuesday from Emmanuel United Church of Christ. Burial was made in Forest Hill cemetery, Braun Settlement.
Mr. Horn was born June 20, 1888, in the town of Longwood to Robert and Christina (Brown) Horn.
On October 18, 1916, he married the former Anna Woepse in Greenwood. They farmed 8 1/2 miles northwest of Greenwood until 1957, when he retired due to ill health. They then moved into a house near the farm, where they have lived since.
He was a member of Emmanuel Church and the church consistory. He was also a member of the Braun Settlement school board for many years.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Herbert of Greenwood and Norman of Wausau; a daughter, Mrs. Albren (Almira) Stanke of Neenah; four brothers, Henry, Herbert and Otto, all of Greenwood and Irvin of Minnapolis; two sisters, Mrs. George (Tillie) Poppe of Greenwood and Mrs. Mike (Dora) Schumann of Lake Alfred, Fla. Four grandchildren also survive.

GLENN WALTER HORN
Greenwood Glenn Walter Horn, 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn M. Horn, Thorp, Clark County, died Sunday, May 16, 1971 at University Hospitals, Madison, where he had been admitted May 11. He had been in ill health for the past several years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church here, and burial will be made in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Greenwood. Visitations may be made at the Thorp Funeral Home beginning Tuesday afternoon.
Glenn Walter Horn was born Aug. 11, 1956 in Greenwood. He had been a resident of Greenwood until about eight years ago when the family moved to Thorp. He was a freshman at the Thorp High School.
