ROLAND HINTZ
Funeral services for Roland Hintz, 67, of Route 1, Willard, Clark County, who passed away at 9 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 1977, at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville, were conducted Friday, May 27, at the Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood.
Rev. David Logue of the United Church of Christ officiated, and Mrs. Duane Olson was the soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Allan Dallman on the organ. Interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. The Loyal American Legion Post 175 conducted the full military funeral.
Roland Hintz was born to George and Mary Hintz on Oct. 14, 1909 at Willard and received his education at rural Willard schools. He was never married.
He farmed with his parents in the Willard area, selling the farm in 1960. He has worked for various construction firms in the Greenwood-Willard area, and has been semi-retired for the past several years.
He served in the Army from March 19, 1942 to Oct. 3, 1945. He also served in the reserves for a few years. He has received many Army citations, including two bronze battle stars, a bronze service arrowhead, six overseas service bars, a first bronze oak leaf cluster, a bronze star, a silver star, a purple heart with oak leaf cluster and a European, African, Middle Eastern Theatre ribbon with a silver battle star.
He is survived by three brothers, Ralph of Milwaukee, Boyd of Princeton and George, Jr. of New Holland, Ill. and two sisters, Mrs. Art (Katherine) Fravert of Loyal and Mrs. Orlin (Bernice) Schwarze of Greenwood.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and one brother.
Serving as pallbearers were Andrew Cohara, Stanley Malaszuk, Robert Herrick, Roger Kirn, Larry Hintz and Harold Hintz.
Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, was in charge of arrangements.

Obituary of Kathryn Fravert Wednesday, September 20, 2000:
Kathryn Fravert, 85, Neillsville, Clark County, Wisconsin, formerly of Loyal, died on Monday, Sept.18, 2000, at the Neillsville Memorial Home. Visitation will be held from 6 8 p.m., on
Wednesday, Sept. 20, at the Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, and
again on Thursday, Sept. 21, at the funeral home from noon until time of services. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Daniel E. Zimmerman will officiate. Burial will be in the Loyal City
Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clint Wiater, Dale Fravert, John Anderson, Quentin Fravert, Dean Schweiger, and Lionel Schweiger.
Kathryn Elizabeth Hintz was born on Nov. 19, 1914, in Willard, to George H. and Mary A. (nee Clair) Hintz. She attended grade school in Willard and worked with her father on the farm. She worked for various families in Greenwood for room and board in order to attend Greenwood High School. She graduated in 1932. Following graduation, she worked as a meat cutter and a maid in the Milwaukee area. She married Arthur Fravert on May 24, 1952 in Appleton. The couple lived in Loyal where her husband worked for the state highway department and she raised the children. Her husband died on April 10, 1984. She lived in their home in Loyal until entering the Neillsville Memorial Home in 1995. She was an avid gardener and loved to read westerns.
Survivors include three children, Susan (Chester)Wiater, Wausau, Frederic
(Mary) Fravert, Merrill, and Ruth Fravert, Loyal five grandchildren, Charity (John) Anderson, Rothschild, Clint Wiater, Green Bay, Quentin Fravert, Merrill, Derrick Fravert, USMC, San Diego, Calif., and Katrina Fravert, Merrill one great-granddaughter, Kathleen Wiater one brother, George (Florence) Hintz, San Antonio, Texas two brothers-in-law, Orlin Schwarze, Owen, and Herb Kippenhan, Stevens Point and one sister-in-law, Gertrude Hintz, Princeton.
She was preceded in death by her parents her husband Arthur Fravert four brothers, Paul, Ralph, Roland, and Boyd Hintz and three sisters, Bernice Schwarze, Mary Alice Trost, and Helen Kippenhan.
Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Art Fravert, 74, of 510 W. South, Loyal, Clark County, died early Tuesday, April 12, 1984, at Memorial Home, Neillsville.
Officiating at the service at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 1984, was Rev. Joseph R. Kraly of Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal.
Interment was in the Loyal Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Dennis Fravert, Dale Fravert, Cullen Ayer, Glen Clouse, Eugene Wister and George Hintz. Rinka Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Art Fravert was born to Fred and Bertha (nee Gnotke) Fravert on July 12, 1909, at Rib Lake. He was educated at Greenwood Schools.
He and Kathryn Hintz were married at Appleton on May 24, 1952.
He worked for the Clark County Highway Dept. for 28 years, retiring in 1972. Since 1981, he has been residing at the Neillsville Home.
He is survived by his wife one son, Fred of Thorp two daughters, Mrs. Chester (Susan) Wister of Marshfield and Miss Ruth Fravert of Loyal one brother, Alvin, of Loyal and five grandchildren.
