Mrs. George Vollrath passed away at her home in Braun Settlement, Monday afternoon at 2:15, at the age of 44 years.
She had been confined to her bed for the past seven weeks with dropsey.
She is survived by her husband, two daughers, Oneita and Lucille, her aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Braun, three sisters, Mrs. William Alperstett, Mrs. Theo Knipke, Mrs. Nernan Mitchell; two brothers, Ed and Elmer Braun and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services ill be held Friday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock from the Braun Settlement Church, Rev. E. G. Pfeiffer officiating. The body will be laid to rest in the Braun Settlement cemetery.

ILLNESS FATAL TO WILLIAM BRAUN, 92
FUNERAL OF GREENWOOD RESIDENT SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY AFTERNOON
Greenwood William Braun, 92, whose several days illness was attributed to old age complications, died at 10 a.m. New Year s Day at his home, 8 miles northwest of Greenwood.
Funeral rites are scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock at Braun Settlement Reformed Church. The Rev. B.M. Fresenborg will officiate, and burial will be made in the church cemetery.
Mr. Braun was born in Germany May 24, 1851, and after coming to the United States in 1873, settled in Sheboygan, where he married Emilie Horn April 14, 1880. Shortly after their marriage, the Brauns came to Greenwood, settling on a farm 9 miles northwest of Greenwood, Clark County, occupied by his son Edward since 1914.
His wife died Jan. 31, 1938, and also preceding him in death were two daughters, Mrs. Olga Vollrath and Mrs. Selma Alperstett two sisters, Miss Eva Braun and Mrs. Tena Horn and three brothers, Gottfried, Christ and Fred Braun.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Edward of Greenwood and Elmer of Sacramento Calif. two daughters, Mrs. Theodore (Minnie) Knifke and Mrs. Norman (Setonia) Mitchell, both of Chicago one sister, Mrs. Louisa Horn, Greenwood eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Braun was a charter member of the Braun Settlement Salem Reformed Church, which was organized Sept. 10, 1893.

Wm. Braun, son of Wm. And Anna Braun, was born May 24, 1851 in Germany and came to the United States when 18 years of age, settling in Sheboygan, where he was united in marriage on April 14, 1880 to Miss Amelia Horn. They came to the town of Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.), where he resided until his death.
To this union were born 6 children, one passing away in infancy, four daughters and one son. They also had one adopted son, Elmer. Two daughters preceded him in death, Mrs. Wm. Alperstett (Selma), Mrs. Geo. Vollrath (Olga).
Mr. Braun passed away New Years morning, Jan. 1, 1944, at his home after a few days illness, having reached the age of 92 years, 7 months and 7 days.
He is survived by one son Ed of the town of Longwood, one adopted son Elmer of Sacramento, Calif., two daughters, Mrs. Theo Knifke (Minnie) and Mrs. Norman Mitchel (Setona), both of Chicago; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Louisa Horn of Greenwood.
Funeral services were held at the Braun Settlement Church on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 1944, at 2:00 p.m.. Rev. B.M. Fresenborg officiated and he was laid to rest in the Braun Settlement Cemetery (Forest Hill).
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, who passed away Jan. 30, 1938, three children, three brothers, Frederick, Chris and Gottfried Braun, and two sisters, Mrs. Tena Horn and Miss Eva Braun.
The pallbearers were: Jim Metcalf, Jake Speich, Herman Damerow, Ted Braun, Henry Horn and Wm. Schlinsog.

Conduct Rites for Greenwood Woman
To Pastors Deliver Eulogies to Mrs. William Braun, 78
Greenwood - Funeral services were conducted at the Braun Settlement Reformed church Friday afternooon for Mrs. William Braun, 78, who died at her home last Monday after a short illness. The Rev. E. G. Pfeiffer delivered a German sermon and Mrs. Braun's nephew, the Rev. Walter Horn, Minneapolis, delivered the English eulogy.
Six nephews, Gustave Horn, Henry Horn, Ervin Horn, Hubert Horn, George Braun, and Theodore Braun, acted as pallbearers, and Miss Edna Preller, Shirley Braun, Violet Speich, and Verona Vollrath were in charge of flowers.
Among those who attended the rites wer Elmer Braun, Washington, D.C., Mrs. Theodore Knifke, Chicago; Mrs. William Norman Mitchell, Chicago; Mrs. Peter zleuloff, Calby; Mrs. and Mrs. John Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meyer and son, Green Grove, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rahn and daughter and Mrs. Rahn Rs., Loyal.
Emilie Horn was born at Sheboygan, Nov. 24, 1859, and was married to William Braun at Sheboygan on April 14, 1880, coming to the farm now owned by their son, Edward, shortly afterward. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1930.
Mrs. Braun became a charter member of Salem Reformed church on the day of its organization, Sept. 10, 1893, and was also a member of the ladies aid of the church. She was the last member of her family of brothers and sisters and is survived by her husband, two sons and three daughters.
