Frederick Braun, son of William and Anna Dorothy Torsch Braun, was born at Riesenkirch, West Prussia, Germany August 7, 1857. He passed away March 9, 1939 after a lingering illness at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 2 days.
He was confirmed in the Riesenkirch church October 15, 1871 and came to America in 1873. He was married to Maria Sophia Wilck at Sheboygan on June 3, 1886 and came immediately to their farm in the Town of Reseburg. Seven children were born to this union. Three did in infancy, Harry, Odele and Ernest. Those who survive are Clara, Mrs. Albert Liebzeit, Town of Warner, George of the Town of Eaton, Thodore of the Town of Warner and Marianna, Mrs. Emil Noah of the Town of Mead.
He is also survived by his wife Mrs. Mary Braun, two isisters, Mrs. Louisa Horn and Mrs. Christina Horn both of Greenwood and one brother, William braun of the Town of Warner, 21 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
On June 3, 1936, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home in Greenwood. Mr. and Mrs. Braun became charter members of Salem Reformed church on the day or its organization September 10, 1893. In 1919 they moved to Greenwood and became members of the Zion Reformed Church. Mr. Braun served both congregations as Elder at various times.
He was very patient during his illness of one and one-half years and went to sleep with faith in His Saviour on March 9, 1939 at 11:30 A.M.
Funeral services were conducted at the Reformed church at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 13, 1939 with Rev. E. G. Pfeiffer preaching the German sermon and Rev. P.H. Franzmeier the English sermon. The boyd was laid to rest in the Braun Settlement Cemetery.
The pallbearers were his nephews, Fred Warncke, Edward Braun, Wm. Horn, Gust Horn, Henry Horn and Art Horn.
The flower carriers were his grandchildren Fredrick Noah, Niel Braun, Allen Braun, Norman Noah, Shirley Braun and Catherine Braun.
Those from away who attended the funeral were Mrs. Theo. Knifke, Chicago; Mrs. Minna Schomberg, Mrs. Harry Boll and son Raymond, Sheboygan Falls; Mr. Otto Siekmann, Sheboygan; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Tripp, Marshfield; Fred Warncke and daughter Marjorie, Maplehurst; Mr. and Mrs. Louie Warncke and family, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. John Miller, Mrs. Newman; Atwood; Mr. and Mrs. Christ Karsten, Harry Karsten and Mrs. Franklin Kraut, Curtiss; Carl Reber, Owen; Nels Myrin, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Baehr, Withee.

Greenwood--Funeral services for Frederick Braun, 81, who died Thursday, March 9, at his home in Greenwood, were conducted Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home, and at 2 o'clock at the Zion Reformed Church in Greenwood
The Rev. E. G. Pfeiffer and the Rev. P. H. Franzmeier officiated at the funeral rites, and interment was made in the Braun Settlement cemetery. The Rev. Mr. Pfeiffer preached a German sermon, and the Rev. Mr. Franzmeier delivered an English sermon.
Mrs. Willard Stafford and Misses Louise and Freda Keiner and Gertrude Schwarze sang three numbers, "The Old Rugged Cross," "Nearer My God to Thee," and "Lass Mich Gehen", Mrs. Adolph Meyer was piano accompanist. The congregation sang, "Mein Leben 1st Ein Pilgrimstand."
Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, Fred Warncke, Edward Braun, William Horn, and Gust, Art, and Henry Horn. Flowers were carried by grandchildren, Frederick Noah, Neil Braun, Allen Braun, Norman Hoah, Shirley Braun, and Catherine Braun

Mr. & Mrs. Frederick Braun celebrated their silver wedding Saturday June 3rd at their home in Braun Settlement. The wedding was again solemnized, the Rev. Saewert officiating. A large crowd of neighbors and friends were present to help make the occasion an enjoyable one. Mr. & Mrs. Braun were the recipients of many beautiful and valuable presents, among them a fine leather couch. The Gleaner joins the friends of Mr. & Mrs. Braun is wishing them many happy returns of the day, the golden anniversary a quarter of century hence, among them.

Braun, George (1895 - 1961)
GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY George Braun, a lifelong resident of this area, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 4, 1961 at 11:30 a.m. of a heart attack. He was 66 years of age.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Zion United Church of Christ. The Rev. Orval Egbert will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Braun was born in Greenwood Jan. 5, 1895. His marriage to the former Blanche Smith took place Aug. 22, 1922, in Greenwood. He farmed in this area for a number of years, operating a farm northeast of Greenwood from 1957 until his retirement last fall.
He was a member of the Zion United church of Christ and a director of the Greenwood Cooperative Credit Union, and a former supervisor for the Town of Warner.
He is survived by his wife three daughters, Catherine and Jean of .(the rest of my copy was cut off)
