Rose Horn
Rose E. Horn, 95, Greenwood, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003 at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen. Visitation will be for one hour prior to 11 a.m. funeral services on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood. The Rev. Mark Schwinn will officiate.
Rose Elizabeth Haase was born on June 6, 1908 in Chicago, Ill., to Herman and Rose (nee Kessler) Haase. At the age of 4, she moved with her family to Greenwood, where she was raised on a farm and received her education. She married Otto Horn on June 11, 1930. They farmed the Horn family farm until 1968, when they sold the farm to their son. After her husband died, she continued to live on the farm until moving to Greenwood in 1996. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood, and was active in the ladies Aid and adult fellowship, and was a member of the Jolly Homemakers Club. Her interests included spending time with her family, gardening, sewing, crafts, and visiting shut-ins.
Survivors include one son Darrel (Lois) Horn, Greenwood; three grand- daughters, Denise Horn, Marshfield, Amy (Brent) Horn-Delzer, Janesville, and Melanie (Neil) Horn-Bottemiller, Prior Lake, Minn.; five great- grandchildren, Hannah Delzer, Clark Delzer, Michaela Delzer, Grant Delzer, and Laine Bottemiller.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Otto on April 11, 1971; a daughter, Jean Carol on March 12, 1947; and one sister, Doris Franz.
Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Sunday evening, Nov. 26, 1916, marked the passing of Henry Schultze into the great beyond. Mr. Schultze was among the earliest settlers in what is now the town of Worden, Clark County, Wis. and was much respected as a friend and neighbor. His death was caused by heart failure and occured within an hour of a sudden attck at about nine o'clock Sunday evening at his home. Mr. Schultze was born in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany, on May 11, 1851, where he grew to manhood, acquiring an excellent education during his boyhood days. In 1880 he was united in marriage with Miss Frances Hinsch, at Hamburg, Germany, and in 1882 they came to this country and diretly to Thorp, and located in the woods, now their present farm. Here Mr. Schultze carved out a home, and surround by his family, enjoyed the blessings of a comfortable home for many years. Since the organization of the town of Worden twenty-two years ago, he has filled the office of town clerk in a most acceptable and honorable manner. He leaves to mourn, his wife and nine children, Hans, Mrs. Arthur Johnson of Stanley, Frank, Theodore, Mrs. Helmuth Dueysen of Stanley, Robert, Max, Martin and Daniel. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon, Rev. Schwertferger of Withee, officiating, interment following in the German Cemetery in the town of Worden.
