Note: Kirk A. Kiltie, age 42, of Billings passed away on Friday, April 28, 2006 at his home in Billings.

Kirk was born in Miles City, Montana on August 21, 1963, to the proud parents Ted and Ginger Kiltie. He attended schools in Miles City where he graduated from Custer County District High School in 1982. Kirk had exceptional ability, talents and was an easy friend. He was a soft hearted person who loved animals, cars, fishing, camping and cooking. Kirk started work for John Wilhelm Repair while still in high school and worked there for over 10 years. He later worked for Carlson Machine Shop and then moved to Billings where he was employed by Mark Right Lines. He took great pride in his jobs. He and Karie Nelson were married and later divorced.

Kirk is survived by his daughter, Desta and granddaughter, Lillie and his son Khristofer. He is also survived by his parents, his sister Sandy and nephews Shane and Hunter of Miles City, an uncle Cal and numerous cousins of Columbia Falls, MT. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry Decker and Flora Decker Hobbs, Alec and Ethel Kiltie, an aunt, Laurie and a cousin, Rocky.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 5, 2006 at 12:00 noon at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Custer County Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.stevensonandsons.com.

Irvin Decker came with his parents to Western Montana at the age of 17. He soon left home to work as a ranch hand in the Ronan area. In 1939 he met Marie Arlint and in 1940 they were married. In 1941, he was inducted into the U.S. Army and served as a heavy equipment operator instructor at Fort Sill, Okalhoma. After his discharge, he worked at many different jobs, although all were related in some way to mechanics. For several years he worked at the H. Earl Clack, Co. Garage in Ronan and, to supplement his income, owned and drove a school bus. He also drove logging trucks and even owned one at one time. The family lived in Ronan until their 4th child (a 4th son) was born. Irvin decided that town was no place to raise boys so they purchased a farm west of Ronan in 1949. They lived there until 1957 when they purchased a farm northeast of Ronan. Ervin and Marie raised 8 children (5 boys and 3 girls) and 4 foster children ( 2 boys and 2 girls). Irvin passed away just 2 days before Christmas in 1997 and his ashes are buried at the Ronan City Cemetery east of Ronan, Montana.
