Miss Evelyn Stange, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Stange of the town of Beaver and Alvin Fravert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fravert also of the town of Beaver were united in marriage at the Evangelical Lutheran church at Loyal on Wednesday afternoon, June 24th, at 2:00 o'clock, Rev H.F. Leschensky officiating.

The couple were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stange, Miss Dorothy Fravert and Lester Kenyon.

A white velvet gown of ankle length, and a veil was worn by the bride and she carried a bouquet.

The bridesmaids wore ankle length yellow and orchid frocks and wore shoulder corsages.

A reception and supper was held at the home of the brides parents. About 125 guests were present. A wedding cake served as a centerpiece at the bridal table and colored streamers and a large white beill decorated the room.

The young couple will make their home with the grooms parents.

Evelyn Marie Decker, 88, Winter Park, Fla., formerly of Greenwood, Clark County, died Saturday, June 15, 1996, at Manor Care Rehabilitation Center, Winter Park, Fla. She was cremated and a memorial service will be held in Greenwood at a later date.
Evelyn Marie Kepke was born on April 19, 1908, to Henry and Anna (nee Franz) Kepke. She came to Greenwood in 1909, where her parents homesteaded a farm north of Greenwood. She attended Hemlock Grade School and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1925.

She graduated from Oshkosh Teachers College on June 8, 1927, and taught elementary school at Willard. She married Theodore Decker on June 30, 1930, at Winona, Minn. They farmed and owned and operated the Red Owl Grocery Store and Locker Service in Greenwood for many years. During World War II, she worked as a special agent in Chicago for the government to seek out spies. They moved to Chicago in 1957, where she worked various jobs. Following her husbands death on Oct. 3, 1968, she moved to Florida. She suffered a stroke on Sept. 21, 1995, and was a resident at Manor Care Rehabilitation in Winter Park until the time of her death.

Survivors include two sons, Donald (Mary Lou) Decker, Greenwood and Bernard T. Decker, Orlando, Fla. 10 grandchildren, Donald R. (Jill) Decker, Corona, Cal. Ronald A. Decker, Eau Claire Randall L. Decker, Eau Claire Duane T. (Jodi) Decker, Evanston, Ill. Linda M. (Kenneth) Rogers, Winter Park, Fla. Kimberly K. (Kevin) Wilfert, Germantown Jennifer A. (Ryan) Lindner, Greenwood and David Decker, Kurt Decker and Tori Decker, all of Winter Park, Fla. and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial will be designated at a later date.

Bernard Bernie T. Decker, 70, Orlando, Fla., died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2005, at Fish Memorial Hospital. A memorial service was held at English Gardens, Winter Park, Fla.
Bernard T. Decker was born in Greenwood. He graduated in 1962 from the University of Wisconsin with a law degree. He worked for the law firm of H.H. Brown in Union Grove for three years before relocating to Orlando. He then worked for the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems from August 1966 to January 1995. During his tenure, he served as counsel overseeing millions of dollars in contracts. He received numerous awards including the Superior Civilian Service Award, which is the highest Naval Civilian honor. He was a brilliant, engaging conversationalist with a quick wit and he was loved dearly by his family and all who knew him.
Survivors include his second wife, Mary; his first wife, Dona; and three children, David, Kurt, and Tareen, and their spouses.

GREENWOOD - Vernie Rebecca Decker, 100, of Greenwood died Monday, March 21, 2005, at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Cuddie Funeral Home in Greenwood. Burial will follow in Greenwood City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Vernie as born Sept. 20, 1904, in Thorp to George and Julia Mae (Prouty) Van Gorder. She married Ernest Nimbar on Dec. 31, 1921. They lived in Withee, where she was a homemaker and owned the Greenwood Cafe until her husband died on Feb. 28, 1963. She then married Arno Decker on Aug. 18, 1973, at Zion United Church of Christ in Greenwood. He died on June 26, 1984.
She is survived by her daughter, Erma Brown, Greenwood; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
