A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we love is stilled,
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
Bod in hs wisdom has recalled.
The boon his ove had given,
And though the body slumbers here,
The soul is safe in heaven.
'Tis hard to break the tender cord,
When love has bound the heart,
'Tis Hard, so hard, to speak the word
"We must forever part".
Dearest, Mother we must lay thee
In the peaseful grave's embrace,
But the memory will be chereshed,
Till we see thy heavenly face.
Call not back the dear departed,
Anchored safe where storm are o'er,
On the border land we left her,
Soon to meet and part no mre.
When we leave this world of changes,
When we leave this world of care,
We shall meet our missing loved one,
In our father's mansion there.
Farewell, Dear Mother, but not forever
There will be a glorious dawn,
We shall meet to part--no never
On the resurrection morn.
Tho' thy darling form lies sleeping
In the cold and silet Tomb
Thou shalt have a glorious waking
When the blessed Lord doth come.

Franz, Minna Sophia (b. 20 APR 1903, d. 9 SEP 1985)
Note: October 1, 1961

Anniversary

One score and fifteen momentous years ago-
Kind gracious Henry and his beloved bride,
started sailing down the sea of Matrimony:

Oft the darkening clouds would be hanging low,
And stayed so for a distracting while-
But even though ill fate would strike,
They'd overcome adversity with their gracious smile.

Angry waves oft would lash their deck
And even defiant sharks would lash their share,
But they accepting their Crosses with patience
Dethroned their griefs with their nightly prayer.

Then they encounted broken sails, the depression,
When many floks as I, just couldn't win;
Yet Henry and Minnie just overcame their problems
By accepting them with an optomistic grin.

They have been faithful friends and neighbors,
Ever tossing kink deeds o'er the billowy sea;
Giving cheer to the hearts they encounter,
And remembering simple folks as you and me.

Now in everyone's lives there comes timely Crosses
And oh, how the relentless rains may pour
But Minnie merely sought God for guidance
And seemingly they were blessed the more.

But far greater than their wordly assets
Is their fine family they were blessed to rear,
For they are just as friendly, intelligent and happy -
As they complete the circle so sublimely dear,

So now dear Hank and charming Minnie -
Just keep on a sailing on lifes's boat as before,
Until some day the great God shall welcome you
On to a promised land and heavenly shore.

Franz, Theodore Henry (b. 12 JUN 1905, d. 14 MAR 1974)
Note: "Goldendale" is liked by Men

A deal has been closed by Edward Abeling wherein the Frank Saxton 400 acre ranch in the Spring Creek section was sold to Haltenhof and Franz (Ted). The purchasers are Montana cattlemen from near Miles City and have spent the past eighteen months seeing a desireable location in various parts of Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

The new owners took possession of the ranch last Satuday. They intend to stock it with purebred cattle and sheep for which the farm is particularly well adapted. this ranch is generally considered the best place in that locality. This is the biggest cash deal made in the Klickitat Valley for some time.

Franz, a son-ion-law of Halltenhof has looked at farms all over Oregon and in various parts of Wshington. He said: "After viewing all of the farm territory in Oregon and Washingotn, I felt that Goldendale and Vicity held the greatest opportunity for development."

The above was taken from a Washington paper. Theodroe Franze is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Franz of the West Side.
