The following is an obituary of 1901
Carl Arnhoelter
Carl Arnhoelter died at his home in the Town of Herman on Thursay evening, June 20 at the age of 64 years. Appendicities infection was the cause of his death. He was born on the 26th of October 1836 in Lippe-Detmold, Germany and came to America with his eleven children. The funeral will be on Sunday in the Town of Herman with Pastor Martin Officiating.
It seems that the above is not exactly correct as the death record and the monument on the cemetery lists his birth
as October 26, 1837. Also the Immanuel records show that he, along with his father, a sister and 2 brothers came from Indiana to the Town of Herman, Wisconsin in 1857 and an America Auswanderer book from Germany lists the Arnhoelter family as going to Indiana in 1853.
Therefore, they were not in America in 1848.

Harness, Saddles, Etc., No. 225 East Washington St.
Mr. Arnholter commenced buisnmess in this city at 225 East Washington St. in 1868, subsequently removing No. 213, on the same thoroughfare and returning to the original stand in 1878, where he carries a full and complete line of harness, both singel and double, saddles, bridles, collars, hames, whips, brushes, blankets and every description of horse clothing and equipments, of his own manufacture and from the best manufacturers in the country. Special attention is paid to putting up fine harness to order and to general repairing in all branches. His trade, which embraces both city and country, will compare favorably in the same line, while for quility, style and superior worksmanship, his harness is not surpassed by that thurned out in city of the West. Mr. Arnholter was born in Prussia, Germany, in 1844 and came to this country when but ten years of age. He landed at New Orleans and came to this city; removed with is parents to Sheboygan, Wis., returning to Indianapolis in 1862, where he learned his trade. In 1865, he enlisted in the 154th Regiment, Indiana Volunteers, and at the close of the war he was honorably discharged and returned to this city.

TOWN HERMAN, WIS, IMMANUEL CONGREGATION. Wm Huenemann, Pastor.
Next we would like to report that the Almighty God has taken MOTHER
SOPHIA ARNHOELTER from this world into eternity in March of this year.
Her husband preceded her already in the year 1901. She was in
suffering and bedridden during the majority of the time since the
fall of 1899. She was well taken care of by her children and she bore
her suffering with a rare patience. One never heard her complain.
Her silent suffering was credited to the various preachers who
visited her during her many years of suffering, oft times to comfort
her. Indeed, she was not one to boast about her beliefs, on the
contrary, she had learned that she was a poor sinner and that she
could be blessed thru grace. In the last week of her suffering,
when she caught a cold, in addition to her longtime suffering,
weakness from old age took over and she said, "Lord, they will be done,
but help me through it." Even if she could not help her children with
their labors for many years, still she was a mother of advise till the
end. The funeral service was on March 14. The scripture reading for
the occasion was on Psalm 42 and the funeral sermon was based upon
verse 12 of the same Psalm. Mother Arnhoelter reached the old age
of 84 years, 5 months and 9 days. May the lord comfort the survivors
with his words.
Sophie emigrated to America shortly after their father died.
She came to live with her aunt, Friedricke Sundermann nee Reineking.
Friedricke is believed to be Sophie and Wilhelm's mothers sister.
